Hi guys - again, long time no see. Sitting here at work and SSC/SSX popped into my head, and thought I'd stop by. I want to post some more info about happenings and such, but will do so when I get home tonight. For now, hope everyone's new year started off right, and that you're all getting plenty o...

Re: History of Volition

Indeed. Maybe this many years since the last game though with the hype and support of social media, support can be drummed up in ways they didn't think of back in FS/FS2 days. It's entirely possible. THAT being said, I agree with you that support is an issue, but somehow, part of me is much happier ...

Re: History of Volition

I apologize for the slight necroposting, I came across a link online and immediately thought of SSX - I also searched the forums and it seems no one here has seen it, or at least mentioned it in a thread. http://pc-mmo.nowgamer.com/news/5142/volition-wed-kill-to-make-freespace-3 This may not be news...

Lots of views, no responses... bummer. :(

The other group I wanted to mention was The6000's

www.youtube.com/the6000s

That URL is for my LAN friends and I when we start getting funky with Microsoft Sam & Microsoft Mike.

My girlfriend told me that her friend in Houston we visited over the summer (in August no less) said that they had snow down that way... o.O

Scorched 3D is a good internet game if you ever just wanna do something mindless. I run servers for it all the time. Oh and of cour...

Been thinking about playing again...

... mainly because FS2 feels so..empty.

But I dislike PVP - I like running missions and mining, how many folks here are on the game on a regular basis?

I bought the game the day it came out - I was a huge fan of CnC Generals, but the damn thing was so unstable... I know Red Alert is different from Generals, but I had high hopes (seeing as how I'm a Sup Com junkie these days - I can make a cheating AI look like a panzy) How hard is it to meet up and...

Trinity / Premium Patch

Be careful XP users... the patcher right now is deleting the wrong boot.ini file and in a lot of cases is rendering Windows XP users systems unable to boot.

Details and fixes here:

nVidia cards run hot. They won't throttle down until they reach a scorching 120+ *C. My 8800 GTS 320 MB card runs around 70-75*C under full load, but I have a pretty big ATX case with some big 12cm fans to push air around. The biggest thing I've found that helps with hot video cards are those nifty ...

Day 2 of my 14 day trial, definitely a nice break from WoW, and I just found you guys on the corp roster. Good to see some familiar faces out there in space.

Indeed. That's partially why I picked up Freelancer Demo the other day. A friend of mine got to listen to me rant about how nice the game was and said I should just download it off of BT. >.< The nerve... it's only $10 on amazon, sheesh. I'm actually really enjoying Freespace 1 again. I haven't play...

I use Surpass Hosting myself. Been a customer of theirs since the last time I was active in SSC. Can't say enough good things about them. Even the Shared Hosting systems are dual core / dual processor Opterons. Very fast, very nice Linux systems.

Er, well like the memories of a civilization long forgotten... sorry, was that cliche? Oh, I have to laugh at the irony of finding this post. Glad I'm not the only one. It's not meant to sound like a put down, but it's the reason I keep coming back to SSX and digging through the archives, trying to find the gold that I once knew. I've got a good joystick again, and once I get my main system fixed, I'm reinstalling FS1 and FS2 and playing ...

Yup, I'm still hoping to find this... or if anyone knows the modern equivalent. I remember it being able to support more turrets and special gadgets than the game came with ori...
