Was looking on the web the different kind of armor a monk can get. Each of them got some nice point but also some properties not really wanted..

I was just asking myself, is better to have a full set or mix them all to get some properties of each of them.. For a example, some armor will protect vs elemental attack, other will be vs physical...

Or is it the best to get a full set and complete it with nice little runes?

Thanks!

Between, sry if Im not talking much in guild chat, just trying to get 20 as fast as possible :shake:
Huh?

The thing is is that there are percentages for how often you are hit in specific areas. Like the chest area is the most important area because thats the location where the most attacks and spells hit. Spells hit the chest 100% of the time. So technically mixing armor is fine but it really doesn't matter in the end. You can get tatoos for more energy, or the physical resistence one. It all depends as well on what your build is. For a healer you need more energy unless you are using the glyph renewel and divine spirit build. If your prot monk then you can actually pull off using the physical armor since you really don't use all that much energy. All your spells as prot are like 5 energy and anything else you can use glyph of lesser energy in order to use aegis or shield of regen. Anything like that. IMO I would just choose a set and just wear all the pieces. It really doesn't matter in the end cuz you can still do our job as a monk.

it really makes no difference in the end cuz its just the same as droknar armor. I mean its all for the looks. You can decide which armor you want by just creating a pvp character and choosing what armor you want specifically before you go and choose 15k armor. Its all really the same in pvp though. Necros just get owned in general.

well pve really doesn't matter what you choose. Just have a w/mo or a mo/w for farming. Everything else doesn't matter. Everything is for the sake of pvp at the end.

I don't play much anymore, but my main was a necro monk. In a PVP situation, necro/monks will generally get owned yes, not enough heal and not enough degen.

Some Necros I've seen:
N/W: Does some interesting damage and lef heal combos, but can never take on a true warrior head to head, so its a bit of a waste in pvp, just doesn't do its own job well enough.
N/Me: Would make more sense to go Me/Ne for PVP since things don't quite die enough in pvp to place soulreaping high in the priorities list. But the build is generally a solid degener, using your hexxes and curses to good advantage is the key.
N/R: A bit of an odd duck, again go with the ranger main, and use the necro as a supplement to your normal ranger skills.
N: A Pure necro can be corpse play, curses, damage and self heals with blood, all sorts of fun, but remember oyu area support class not a fighter.
bah my forums is dead, so it is removed from my sig...

Btw, I'm making a game, it will be awesome, you will look forward to it.[/hype]

Nec/Monk works just fine m8 in PvE.... Have fun with it. :thumb: I often roll a Nec/Monk just to help folks thru the intro to the game, its a well balanced char that will go the distance.
When you are getting you first set of armor in ascalon there is usually 3 kinds, a weaker one, a more powerful, and a magical. Shoot for the magical. Eventually you can get better armor as you progess thru the storyline. As for final armor, zero covered that. You can check what normal armors are available via the PvP char creation screen. As for elite armors, they are completely cosmetic and if you have the will/time you can quest for em.

As for PvP, you can cross that bridge when you get there.....

Pad

PS. I play either healing monk or Necro/Monk the most in random PvP arena... both usually make it thru the 10 rounds to graduate to TA arena's. You can't count on getting a heal monk in randoms, so it is good to have a balanced character. Have easily made a couple hundred thousand faction with my Necro/Monk.... HUGE amounts of continous spike damage, self heals/drains, and hex/condition removal FTW, quite balanced  TA and HoH... ok not so great.... but it works for when you need a quick PvP fix in randoms ;D

you shouldn't double up on the classes ...like since you made a n/mo and an e/mo this means that you have left out a class to get skills for in pve.

right now you have:
n/mo
e/mo
w/? this means you are leaving out R, Me

since your 4th character is going to be a pvp character.....doubling up on classes is a bad idea. the warrior should be paired with the monk. That or a monk/ warrior. The rest make no difference what order they come in. You won't be able to farm very well with your current setup. the e/mo might do well but its all about staying alive and killing things while staying alive that give you money.

I started out with an e/me and then an r/mo and finally a mo/w
see this was a big mistake cuz I left out all the necro skills. This cost me a lot of tombs groups so I highly recommend you not doubling up on classes.

elem/monk for sure...i have aeromancer's armor on this char already(nice friend of mine)...i figure i can nuke and heal with this one should be fun....and good enough to solo....

the nec/monk i am going to delete or change the 2nd profession but i want to transfer the gold i have collected first if i am deleting it, or use her to just figure out how to play the game......or just have monk changed to something else...

as for the warr/(don't know what's good for the sec skill)....
but i am leaving the last slot for pvp just haven't do a thing for it yet.....

yea i am pretty sure, i'll figure something out but as of right now....i am still on a learning curve on this.....i am going to keep the e/m..as for the others, i can redo....just gotta figure out how to move gold around so i don't waste the time i spent on getting thsoe gold already...
