And to be honest, our eve group could use more activity (also in game) I haven't been very active due to real life and winbrian also had enough up his plate. We're really in need of a recruiter. It's something that winbrian and I are not really suited for. Just heard that Killjoy resubbed (Yay!) so I hope he or someone he knows is up for it and we can get the corp going stronger again in game. We pull our weight within our alliance, but I feel we could be more

Not sure if this has been included in your history but the Shattered Star almost met an early demise. Total Annihilation was almost the beginning and end. The group got a restart with Starfleet Academy and it grew from there into Descent Freespace.
When Lonestar contacted me in Starfleet Academy he mentioned about how the group had fallen apart and he was looking to rebuild it. We started with Starfleet Academy and grew a pretty good group. When Descent Freespace hit the market our group really grew and started to take on game modding and additional divisions. We stayed connected through the forums, ICQ and in-game chat engines.
This all went well until 1999. I'm not sure what happened at that point because that's when I departed rather suddenly to start school in Florida.

I'm surprised that any remnants of the group still exists online 17 years after it first started. It's always been entirely volunteer and has only been kept afloat by people donating time and money.
There is such a wide eco-system of good quality games out there. Gotta be one or two where the group has a spark of excitement about growing.
Gaming is made much more fun when shared with friends.
I remember playing countless hours of Starfleet Academy, Freespace, Tribes, Counterstrike and Ultima Online with friends.

With everyone leaving the retirement home, the movie of the night will be Cocoon
If anyone has pictures, files, an SSC history dissertation, etc.
A number of people have contributed to an MS led completing our history thread, so feel free to chime in with your 2p as well:

For a mere cup a coffee a day, you could save... Oops, wrong pandering promotional cause...
The history compilation itself has no ETA, MS is indefinitely on xenomorphic incontinentia sabbatical,
But any information you make available, would go to help us further document and permanently archive our complete history.
It has also been (mostly) partially mentioned, that this information will be used for humane purposes only
