I'm also on the same server then got d/c, stuck in a huge queue!

I had realy poor FPS though, hope that gets fixed before the release!

I'd consider any problems you encounter this weekend - from low FPS to huge queues - to be part of the testing process.

I'd be *greatly* surprised if BioWare weren't taking the opportunity to run with lower populations per realm, limiting data transfer to produce lower FPS, and generally performing all manner of experiments on people :)

They won't yet have been able to test properly what happens when things go wrong to the extent of how that will become apparent on heavily populated server, and I think that will be the most important thing they get out of this weekend. I would expect quite the improvement on whatever you experience this weekend come launch.

That European PvP server had an issue with looting, which sort of brought questing to a halt.

So I switched to a PvP server on the East Coast of USA (Keetaal?),
started a Jedi Knight.... nice story line.

Toon name is A'sh

The really good news even in this stress test Lag did not seem an issue East Coast to UK.

Thought I'd play a tiny bit. Worked out at around 9hrs lol.

Level 11 Jedi Sage on Infinity Gate [East Coast US / PvP] called Wolfgang.
Figured I'd test the latency out on a US server seen as how we're going to have our US members playing on a EU one in a few weeks. To say this is a beta stress test I was pleasantly surprised to find that I experienced not only no lag what so ever, on a server which was heaving when I created my character but my ping bar has been full 90% of the time I've been playing (130ms there abouts) and even when it dropped to a couple of bars it wasn't noticable in the gameworld. Very nice. :)

Loving the game once again. I've grown quite attached to my Jedi & his story I must say, can understand how Zeph feels hehe. Can't wait to get started on my real character on the Sith side which will still be all new to me ^^
Bloody brill! :D

Also those of you who have pre-ordered and are playing too will see for yourself but;

Is what the pre-order colour stone looks like on my lightsaber. You'll get one in your mailbox for free and once you've used that up there's a vendor on the fleet who sells more :thumb:

Not long to go but we'll all be going cold turkey come monday haha.

Completed Tython (Jedi Knight).

OMG amazing story. This game surpases my expectations and they were pretty high,
and yes there are still a couple of bugs and I have no idea what endgame is going to be like,
but getting there is going to be a joy.

I'm so tempted to have a sneak peek at the BH.... but no I will resist the temptation ( ;D )

Well finally got a chance to play some more and do the Esseles instance on the Trooper,
a nice little mission, may have gone smoother if I didn't have a Jedi Knight in the PUG
who thought he could tank all the harder mobs.

Why do glowstick users automatically think they are GODS..... :clown:

Just did the Esseles before I went to bed last night.
Of course you have your usual "trash mobs" and mini boss encounters along the way but I'd honestly say it was one of the best instances I've done in an MMO. You don't just have 1 quest before you enter the place to go kill the main bad guy or whatever, like some MMOs. Instead these too have an actual storyline and several stages to it too. This and the voice acting really made it feel like a new & fresh experience for me tbh and up until I left WoW I'd played every instance that game had to offer multiple times.
I understand they've added in (or will be doing) some of your usual instances with not much story for those who want something to keep repeating for exp/loot and what have you which is good too, caters for everyone, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what the rest of these flashpoints are like. Very impressed and it was much longer than I had expected it to be. :)

Yep, all the 'official' walkthroughs were really just tasters.
A nice length but it didn't seem that long.
I played 2 plus companions.
As I've said the other guy unfortunately believed himself to be Obi Wan reincarnated.... :smack:
As we encountered a bug around me ressing him constantly meant me zoning first ... argh

Off to explore Coruscant now and hopefully get a hold of my ship.
Played around with crafting seems straight forward enough at the low levels and even got an improved recipe.

i have to admit to being an obi wan re-incarnation. (havent got anywhere near an instance) I'm actually quite enjoying it - time flew by last night. Makes me doubt being an electric fingered baddy instead of a vader clone...

i am really impressed by the questing. As you guys have mentioned, the voiceover dialogs shouldnt really be that big of a deal, but it really changes how i view the quest.
I have picked up a few 'kill x' quests while killing stuff and simply turned them in without ever really picking them up - again, quite nice.
at low level, doing them only once and being hand-held through an enviroment is excellent. they've done a job.

jumped on to the only euro server available to me, not sure if i am getting beta-server-stress-lag or graphic lag. only hits when theres plenty of people around. isnt game breaking just a little jumpy.

for what little i will get to see - its actually looking pretty damn good.
Eeks.

Not really a spoiler but some may not want to know at what time to expect their ship so I'll spoiler tag just incase;
You'll receive your starship at the end of the Coruscant part of your class storyline. So second planet for everyone.

Gonna leave it there for the beta I think. Don't want to experience too much of the game and I could quite easily keep playing & playing until they kick me off lol.
Had a quick go with one of those space combat missions. Nothing amazing but then I'm not a spacey fan in general, also don't expect Eve online or Black Prophecy heh. That being said it's only classed as a mini-game and as such isn't terrible or anything. Extremely impressed with everything else I've seen though.

I've just uploaded my beta screenshots to the group site too btw. If anyone else has any they want to add in there too check the gallery sticky :thumb:

Roll on early access! :D

Managed to get the Thunderclap, have a look around and try the starter mission out.

Liked the fact that when you jump to Carrick Station you actually see it happen out of the windows,
nice touch. Another nice touch was the cutscene explaining why you have these space missions.
May be interesting to see where Bioware takes the space combat.

The Trooper story was very enjoyable and I liked the classes mechanics.
As i got more skills i was able to use different tactics against the various mobs.
Based on what I have seen I believe I am going to enjoy the Bounty Hunter.

I'm glad to say that by the end of today i seemed to be grouping with peeps who have it preordered,
which was nice, actually to have discussions about what we had seen and felt without constantly bashing the game
or comparing it to WoW.

In conclusion I am looking forward to early access and am quite glad that i will be busy between now and then,
so time doesn't drag.

Played an Imperial Agent through level 17. Very impressed, I'm sure the class will be a preferred alt. Wish my FPS was a bit better, but that might be a computer issue. Stoked for the release.

I have a question for everyone,
I know it was a Beta, but did anyone have issues with disconnections?

To start off with I was fine but as the day went I got dropped once an hour atleast.
Just wondering if its a glitch with teh game or I need to look closer to home.

never crashed out of game or d/c in the two days i played (15hrs?)

i did get occasional lag spikes but they could have been down to any number of tests they were running - it was a stress test beta.

The only time I was disconnected was when I'd abandoned my character for a while whilst I went afk to check on food and came back to find I'd been logged out. Other than that which was to be expected I didn't experience any disconnections or crashes to desktop. :)

FAQ: if you played this weekend you do NOT need to uninstall the #SWTOR client. We are planning to patch it to Early Game Access / Live.
swtor website is down for maintenance so can't verify it (i don't twiiter).
i doubt anyone was in a rush to free up that 25GB+ anyway, worth waiting a while to see if they can just patch it

I seen a few this weekend. Never crashed to the desktop, but I did see a couple of "server error" crashes/disconnects,
which kicked me out of the game and back to the server selection screen.
A few bouts of lag here and there (thankfully my npc companion finished the mobs for me) and I got stuck a couple of times.
One stuck incident I was able to log out/in to fix, the other I had to /stuck out of (which kills you btw).

Overall I seen fairly nice pings all around, am very impressed.
