Something i htink that worked REALLY well a while back, was the "voucing for new members system"

Basically, we'll take anyone, so long as two (2) established members play with that person and then put their names up as references effectively.

So, in order to join the SSX, 2 existing SSX members must say "this is a cool cat" in order for that person to "join the club."

I REALLY like this system, and puts the "power" into the hands of the people best qualified to determine a person's "worthiness" of becoming a member.

What say you?

It'd make people think more before adding new members to the fold :)

We did this back in NC1 actually, no1 was aloud to recruit unless they got the all clear from at least 1 or 2 other high ranked peeps in the clan. It worked out well.
We haven't really been doing that in NC2 tho atm as we're still just gettin back on our feet again :)

Yeap, I think that's how I was added in. I was probably the last.

Yeah, sounds good. I was actually thinking about that some weeks ago. We can try.

I knew he was adding you if that counts heh :)

Well its worked good before so i don't see why we can't do it again, it used to get a bit weird in NC when u suddenly logged in to hear a load of people talking on clan chat and not even know who they were. You feel a little silly asking "so.. who are you?" :p

Nope BD, I was added in after playing on PXO for a while with Lighty and Ell. Seems like so long ago. :)

That's because QD and I kept the same system. Everyone who was added in that time got approval from both him and myself. Other divisions in the SSC ceased to do it like that. This kind of thing became "special", therefore it wasn't a mandatory move. When I was added, I think it still was. I think I was probably the last when it was a requirment.

Good to have it as a requirement again.

Well, I think what I am suggesting is not "leader approved" but more "2 members in good standing" approved.

Basically, anyone on the list can be one of the 2 people who says "let this guy/girl in!"

Though, you could make the statement that any current moderator needs to be one of hte 2...

I'll post on that, looks like we're pretty game to have some sort of vouching process.

I am kinda keen on maybe making it "one of hte people who vouches for you must be one of hte current forum mods for the group you are interested in joining."

That makes the moderator jobs more meaningful, and makes sure we spread the "power" a bit...

Look for a new poll soon ;)

I'm definately favouring this. This has been the way things worked around the FS division - and it worked quite well, if I might say so :)
