Content updates in SWTOR

> Friday, January 13 2012  |  SSX-MS

The recent test server update 1.1 sees the welcome addition of anti-aliasing as well as Rise of the Rakghouls, changes to Ilum & operation Karagga, PvP bracketing for Warzones and other fixes. This is due to hit the live servers next Tuesday, January 17th.

Come March we will see the second content update which will be much bigger. This will reportedly include a whole new planet, guild banks, a brand new warzone & operation, the second part of the Legacy system will be implemented and PvP will have ranking systems. Plus lots more.

BioWare are supporting the game really well post-launch and seem to have lots in store for players. They already have several other big updates in the works with the story already written for the fourth & fifth content updates and voiceover work is already underway for those too!

Lots to look forward to ;)

SSX Up and Running In The Old Republic

> Sunday, January 1 2012  |  Anubis

With the game having launched several weeks ago worldwide, the SSX now has a strong presence firmly established in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

With 19 members and 27 characters between them so far, we've had a relatively strong start in the game and are having a lot of fun both together and solo. Having already set up various SSX runs through Flashpoints and Heroic content, we hope to be able to do a lot more of this in the coming weeks - in between questing and chatting over Guild chat of course!

Some of our experiences so far, be they exploratory or group based happenings, have been chronicled in our Gallery, and we plan to add more images in as the group continues to grow and evolve as time passes.

Should anyone want to join us ingame, feel free to post on our forums and/or contact us ingame. We're on the Bloodworthy server (EU, English), and would be delighted to have you along for the ride with us in this exciting new game!

SSX TOR Server Details

> Monday, December 12 2011  |  SSX-MS

As promised I can now reveal the server information for our Empire guild in TOR.

Guild Name: Shattered Star eXiles
Allegiance to: The Sith Empire
Server Name: Bloodworthy
Europe (English), PvP

If you are one of the people who joined our pre-launch guild before importation started you will see a gold flag icon next to our assigned server on the server selection screen ingame. Pick this server and start creating your character.

Once you are ingame you will be presented with a dialogue box inviting you to join our guild. Please note that you can only accept this automatic invite once so please try and make sure that the character you accept on is your main. If you decline the invite you will be asked again on the next character you create either until you accept or you enable the "ignore guild offer" in the preferences options. ~ If you go on to create alternate characters on the same server as our guild you should either PM one of us for an invite (alts are more than welcome) or you can leave your alt(s) clanless if you would prefer.

For any existing members who may have only recently decided to join us in TOR just hit one of us up ingame and we'll throw an invite your way too!

Lastly, as a friendly reminder and at the risk of sounding like a broken record. Once you are in the guild it would be greatly appreciated if everyone can make sure their character details have been added to our Roster thread on the forums and remains up to date. - Huge thanks for this.

[For a more detailed guide on how the Guild Deployment system works you can read the announcement post here.]

Look forward to seeing you all ingame! ;)

Launch client pre-load now available plus extended early access!

> Wednesday, December 7 2011  |  SSX-MS

Those of you who have pre-ordered a copy of The Old Republic will be pleased to hear that the earlier reported "up to 5 days" early access, depending on how soon you redeemed your key, has now been increased to 7 days and will start on December 13th at 12pm GMT (7am EST). Less than a week away. - If you have pre-ordered a copy of the game sit tight and you will receive an email on the day that your access begins.

If you were one of the people who participated in the beta testing weekend between November 25th & 28th and still have the client installed you will be able to use this for launch and there is no need to redownload. Just let it patch as you would normally and you're ready to go.
If you did not take part in that particular weekend or you have an older build of the client installed you are now able to pre-load the launch client ready for playing. If you come under the latter then fully uninstall first. Then simply log in to your account and navigate from "My Account > Pre-Order > Download Game Client" to begin your download process.

So, get your downloads going if you still need to!
Also be sure to check back on Monday (Dec 12th) to find out what server our guild has been deployed on!

Several of us here have enjoyed a wonderful weekend in the Old Republic this week. I'm happy to say that the vast majority of us seem to have come out of it with a very positive impression of the game in general and in some cases has completely rekindled their interest in the game.

Now that players are allowed to talk about their experiences and share screenshots & videos too we have a nice new selection of beta screenshots in our gallery for your viewing pleasure.
Feel free to check them out and expect to see many, many more next month when the game launches!

Phase 3 begins.

> Friday, November 4 2011  |  SSX-MS

Phase 3 of The Old Republic's Pre-Launch Guild Program has now begun.
This third and final stage will shortly see guilds that have at least 4 members who have pre-ordered a copy of the game and redeemed their codes imported into the game itself.
I can happily say that the SSX has met this requirement and we are now ready for deployment. All we can do now is wrap up any pre-launch discussions we want to have before launch and patiently wait for our early access to begin which is just a matter of weeks now.

Thanks go to those of you who have redeemed your keys already. We're almost there!

Collector's Edition Unboxing Video & press beta impressions

> Friday, October 21 2011  |  SSX-MS

Since many of us here have pre-ordered the Collector's Edition of The Old Republic I am sure some of you will be excited to hear that this weeks friday update from BioWare is an unboxing video displaying the many sexy contents of the CE.
To watch the video click here.

Also this week a number of the gaming press were let loose ingame and got hands-on with the Republic side of the game. They were able to play up to approximately level 15 when players receive their starship so over the next few days expect to see many beta impression articles & info popping up around the net.
Darth Hater have a handy coverage list of these articles on their site here.

Global launch for The Old Republic

> Friday, October 14 2011  |  SSX-MS

It was previously announced that TOR would be released on Dec 20th in the US and Dec 22nd in Europe, however, BioWare have today announced that the game will be releasing simultaneously in both territories on Dec 20th instead.
Those who have pre-ordered and redeemed their keys before release will of course still receive early access.
The game can't come sooner!

Look forward to seeing you all ingame! ;)

=SSX= TOR forum discussions to be aware of now and in the near future

> Saturday, October 1 2011  |  SSX-MS

Now that we have a place to discuss all things TOR without cluttering the general forum it's probably best that we discuss some important topics in advance of us moving ingame.

Just a few of those will be deciding whether we leave our Sith guild on a EU server or we switch it to a US one, discussing the guilds focus (progression etc.), making a note of who has pre-ordered (or will be playing for definite) and covering our ingame moderators for both EU & US.

Please drop by the new forum when you have a few moments to spare and lend your thoughts. Some of the above discussions have already been opened and chances are we will have some more things to talk in the coming weeks to try and make sure our new group goes as smoothly as possible. There's still plenty of time left before launch though so there's no rush. Also if you have anything yourself that you think we should discuss feel free to post.

Beta weekend pics

> Monday, November 28 2011  |  SSX-MS

I for one cannot wait to get started with this new group of ours. It's gonna be a good Christmas this year folks, roll on December!

Two pre-launch guilds created for The Old Republic

> Wednesday, March 16 2011  |  SSX-MS

As previously mentioned we currently have a Sith Empire pre-launch guild setup for The Old Republic. Should we later confirm our guild(s) for transfer BioWare will import them into the game itself with no further imput from ourselves, providing 4 people have pre-ordered.

I can now report that BlackDove has created a Republic guild for us as well under the name of the Shattered Star Society. If you intend on playing TOR but you would like to play as the Republic on your main character please go ahead and join this group. Otherwise please stop by the existing Sith group!.

The Sith Empire
The Galactic Republic
(Please note: Since this system goes by accounts and not individual characters you can only join ONE of these. Should we eventually import both of these you'd be able to have characters in both once we're ingame but for the time being it's one or the other. We'll see what happens...)

BioWare launches pre-launch guild program for SWTOR

> Thursday, March 10 2011  |  SSX-MS

BioWare have today opened up a very cool pre-launch guild program for their highly anticipated MMO title, Star Wars: The Old Republic.

This program allows players to register and reserve their guilds well in advance of the game going live. Now this doesn't just include the name but the entire guild and its membership as well as the option of forming potential alliances and adversaries with other clans should they wish. Of course other players are able to search through the list of clans and apply to join them also. Letting newbies get to know the people they'll be playing with before retail and reserve themselves a spot.

Now the best part about this is that it's not just some gimmicky out of game feature. Providing the leader confirms the guild is still active when phase3 of this program arrives (shortly before launch) and at least 4 members have pre-ordered a copy of the game (pre-order program details will come soon) by this time too, these guilds will be transferred into the game itself on a server type/time zone of their preference when they created. No hastle of creating our guilds on day one and slowly trying to get everyone invited. We'll simply create our character and be greeted by an invite the minute we log-in, have everything ready and waiting for us. How handy?!
Also to note is that considering we're able to pick a time-zone preference it appears we'll be able to play on EU, US West or US East servers no matter where we're from. Of course the guild itself will have to be on one or the other unless we go with both but this is great news for us as a community. Giving us the option of playing together should we wish.

Going with the forum responses on our previous TOR thread it seems the majority of us (those of whom posted) are either wanting to play as the Sith Empire or will play either faction as their main with only a couple who intend to play as the Republic. Most of us coming from Europe. If you plan on playing too but haven't posted your preference feel free to make yourself heard on the forum. This may change where and who we play as.
Taking said responses into account I have created us a Sith clan on a EU PvP server right here. Please come join us!. (You can find more information on the pre-launch guild program here too.)

Be sure to keep up to date via the forums should we create a US or Republic clan. Ideally our aim is to only confirm one clan for phase3 importing and have everyone join that one if possible but we'll see what happens. ;)
